What is the Implantable Collamer Lens Procedure?
Implantable Collamer Lens (also known as ICL) surgery is an alternative to LASIK for patients with larger prescriptions. During the procedure, we implant contact lenses into your eyes. These lenses are permanent, which means you cannot remove them yourself. They will stay in your eyes for as long as you live.
With ICL, we can treat up to minus 20 and up to eight to nine units of astigmatism. What the patient experiences is not hugely dissimilar to having laser eye surgery.
To learn more about ICL, and know which treatment is best for you, please book online for a free virtual vision assessment on our website today.
