What is Dr. Erik Chotiner’s training and experience?
In this video, Dr Erik Chotiner explains his training and experience
Hi, I’m Dr. Erik Chotiner, one of the eye surgeons here at Memorial Eye.
At a very young age, I had the opportunity to shadow my father, Dr. Bennett Chotiner, as he improved people’s vision and their lives. I knew at an early age that I wanted to do the same. I completed my ophthalmology residency in Philadelphia, where I worked alongside both Temple University and Wills Eye Hospital physicians. I then completed a subspecialty fellowship in Cataract, Cornea and Laser Vision Correction Surgery at the University of California San Diego. Finally, I returned to my hometown and joined Memorial Eye Institute in 2006.
I have performed thousands of procedures.
I am an expert in cataract, cornea, and laser vision correction surgery. I am also a Clinical Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology at Penn State’s Ophthalmology department in Hershey. I love to teach second-year ophthalmology residents who have spent time in our practice.
I was fortunate in 2011 to be one of the first ophthalmologists in Pennsylvania and the first in Central Pennsylvania to perform laser cataract surgery.
If you would like to learn more about laser vision correction and understand which treatment will be free you from glasses or contact lenses, please give one of my team members a call at our office or book an online virtual consult through our website.
I also provide general ophthalmic care to treat conditions such as glaucoma and dry eye disease. Additionally, I perform cosmetic procedures, including blepharoplasty, botox, and aesthetic fillers.
