How long does refractive lens exchange take?
Refractive lens exchange itself is a relatively quick procedure, usually taking 15 minutes or less. Before the surgery, time is spent in the pre-operative area to prepare you for surgery. After the surgery, time will be spent in the post-operative area going over post-operative instructions and allowing you to have some refreshments before going home with a family member or friend. Typically, one will be in the facility for approximately an hour and a half.
