What’s your favorite part about your role?

“I enjoy interacting with patients especially in listening to their eye needs and concerns. I am happy to be able to take care of their eye problems.”

What’s a memorable moment in your career?

“I had a patient with complaints that she saw haloes around lights and had eye pain. The patient’s eye pressure could not be read for the one eye using a non-contact tonometer. I then tested the pressure with an applanation tonometer and it read 73mmgh for that eye. I immediately provided relief using glaucoma eye drops, and the eye pressure was reduced to a safe range. The patient was very happy and glad that she no longer had pain, and was not at risk of going blind from the extreme high glaucoma eye pressure.”

Dr. Tran is certified by the American Board of Optometry.

Dr. Tran performs comprehensive eye exams, pediatric evaluations, and contact lens fittings. He diagnoses and manages a wide range of ocular conditions, including glaucoma, infections, inflammation, and dry eye. Dr. Tran also provides in-office procedures such as foreign body removal and treatment for recurrent corneal erosion. In addition, he offers pre- and post-operative care for cataract and laser vision correction procedures and works closely with ophthalmologists to coordinate advanced care when needed. He is also experienced in patient education, including visual hygiene and computer-related eye fatigue.

Dr. Tran received his Bachelor of Arts in Biology from Temple University and his Bachelor in Vision Science and Doctor of Optometry from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry.

Dr. Tran completed extensive clinical training through internship rotations at The Eye Institute in Philadelphia, PA, with concentrations in ocular disease, primary care optometry, and pediatrics. He also completed external rotations at VA hospital systems and surgical ophthalmology/optometric referral centers. In addition to his clinical experience, Dr. Tran has directed and trained clinical staff in patient workups, visual field testing, and advanced imaging techniques.

Dr. Tran is certified by the American Optometric Association.

Outside the office, Dr. Tran enjoys golfing, barbecuing, reading, attending church functions, working on automobiles, and traveling with his family.
